Resident responsibilities

The full agreement at a glance

Residents should review these expectations carefully with management before move-in and throughout their stay.

  1. Rule 1: Recovery Commitment

Residents are contractually obliged to maintain active participation in a recovery program, including, but not limited to, attendance at meetings, sponsorship, and fellowship activities.

  2. Rule 2: Drug Use Prohibition

The use or possession of mind-altering drugs or drug paraphernalia is strictly forbidden. Violation results in immediate dismissal with no refund.

  3. Rule 3: Employment Requirement

All residents must maintain gainful employment during their stay.

  4. Rule 4: Rent Payment

Rent is due on the 25th of the preceding month. Each payment applies to the full upcoming calendar month, from the 1st through the last day of that month. Late payments may incur a $50 fee. Chronic late payment may result in dismissal. A 30-day notice is required to receive the deposit refund.

  5. Rule 5: Security Deposit

A $200 refundable security deposit is required before occupancy, subject to compliance with all rules and re-occupancy. Non-occupancy forfeits the deposit.

  6. Rule 6: Common Area Maintenance

Residents share responsibility for the upkeep and cleanliness of common areas and common household items. Weekly chore assignments are mandatory.

  7. Rule 7: Timely Chore Completion

Assigned chores must be completed within the specified time frame. Failure results in a monetary fine.

  8. Rule 8: Overnight Aways

If you plan to be out of the house overnight, house management should be notified, and all contractual obligations must be fulfilled.

  9. Rule 9: Alterations and Appliances

No alterations or appliance use in bedrooms without management consent. Unauthorized changes may result in charges or lease termination.

  10. Rule 10: Prohibited Behavior

Theft, violence, unlawful behavior, or any inappropriate conduct, as determined by management, leads to dismissal.

  11. Rule 11: Guest Policy

Guests must comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Overnight guests require house and management approval.

  12. Rule 12: Smoking Policy

Smoking inside is prohibited. Improper disposal of cigarette waste may result in fines or dismissal.

  13. Rule 13: Aftercare Participation

Residents who have an aftercare program as part of their recovery plan are contractually required to remain active in that program at least once a week.

  14. Rule 14: Abandonment

Management may regain possession of premises if abandoned by a resident. Personal property left behind may be disposed of with no liability.

  15. Rule 15: Room Checks

Management may check the state of rooms to maintain safety and adherence to house rules.
